How much composite bonding costs in the UK - and is the right treatment?

The price in private practices throughout the UK can vary, but patients typically expect composite bonding to cost £250-350 per tooth.

However, if you plan to use composite bonding to overhaul their smile, you’ll likely need composite veneers instead, which are applied to the entire tooth rather than a specific portion.

With composite bonding, there are no additional costs patients should expect. If not opting for a free consultation, you’ll likely first have a check-up to see if you’re suitable for composite bonding, which costs £95 for new patients.

Cost of composite veneers

Composite bonding is not typically provided via the NHS but is widely available in cosmetic, private practices like ours. However, it’s one of the most inexpensive cosmetic treatments and is mostly affordable by the vast majority of patients.

Like veneers, composite bonding is used to rebuild the smile and correct issues caused by chips, breaks and gaps and is commonly used on a few visible teeth to make the mouth more even.

Is composite bonding worth the money?

We don’t have to be biased – our patients love composite bonding.

It’s such a simple, easy treatment to change the shape and length of teeth, close gaps and make them appear more perfect without having to undergo extensive, harmful or invasive cosmetic procedures like with veneers or crowns to achieve a relatively similar result.

That said, the only downside to composite bonding is that it doesn’t last forever. With the right care, composite bonding and veneers can last up to a decade, but realistically, you should expect between 5 and 7 years.

Whilst it’s strong and durable, it’s not indestructible, so if you have bad habits like chewing on pens, or grinding your teeth, your restoration will not last as long.
