How much do metal braces cost?

Metal brace guide

How do they work?

Fixed braces, made up of small metal brackets attached to each tooth and connected via a wire, tend to be worn for around 12 months, but in some severe cases, up to 24 months.

The treatment relies on a thick wire that’s adjusted throughout your treatment duration to move and realign teeth gradually – with patients only feeling discomfort when having their braces tightened to progress onto the next stage of treatment.

Sometimes negatively referred to as train track braces, fixed metal braces are actually one of the most popular teeth straightening solutions due to their predictable nature and reliable results.

Used more frequently in NHS orthodontics, metal braces are available privately at our London clinic – as the NHS does not cover the costs for those over 18.
