Why Parents choose us as their child's dentist

Kid's dental services in London we offer

We’re a unique paediatric dentist in London, in the fact that we minimise the fuss. We don’t need to distract children with monkeys on the wall, because we want to promote positive dental experiences in a clinic environment from a young age, because if you move out of the area and switch practices, they might have difficulty adjusting to a different environment. So, from a young age, we normalise the clinic environment and showcase that it’s not scary.

On top of this, we offer a wide range of dental treatments catered to babies, toddlers, children and teens.

Guide to children's dentistry

Why is dental care necessary for children?

Children develop rapidly; during this time, they will gain, lose, and then acquire another set of teeth.

With such a lot going on, a dentist must regularly examine your child’s teeth.

Regular dentist visits will encourage children to care for their teeth from a young age, understand the importance of maintaining good oral health, and settle into a normal cleaning routine.

When should my child start visiting the dentist?

We advise that a child first visit the dentist when their baby teeth erupt.

You should take your child for check-ups from an early age so they can become familiar with the environment and all its sights, sounds, and smells.

What are the common issues treated in children’s dental care?

Typically, if a dentist diagnoses an issue with a child’s teeth, it will relate to their growth or condition.

As children’s teeth are almost always growing — first the milk teeth, then their adult teeth — issues can arise with the location of the teeth or the direction they grow in.

Teeth can grow crooked due to genetics, thumb-sucking, or injury. Once they have finished growing, we can correct misaligned teeth with braces.

Focusing on hygiene, tooth decay is a common diagnosis in children, primarily down to the over-consumption of sugary or acidic foods and drinks.

You can mitigate the effects of tooth decay by limiting the number of sugary treats your child can have each day and encouraging them only to consume sugar at mealtimes.

How should children look after their teeth outside of the dentist?
  • Children should get into the habit of brushing their teeth twice a day.
  • Use a toothbrush specially designed for children – it would be best if you brushed their teeth for them if they are still too young to do it.
  • Do not forget to clean the back surface of the teeth and brush their tongue and gums.
  • Encourage your child to spit the toothpaste out after brushing. We recommend fluoride toothpaste for optimal cavity protection.
