Please note that the cost of braces featured below is typically the price per arch.

1. URA Braces (Upper Removable Appliances)
- Cost: from £800 to £1,070
- Term: Approximately 12 months
The cheapest braces are URA braces, which offer no advantages in aesthetics or discretion.
URA braces feature a thin metal bar across the front of the teeth and are secured in place with metal clasps that hook onto your teeth, resembling retainers.
They are removable and designed to hook onto the upper arch only. They’re usually used before metal braces.

2. Invisalign i7
- Cost: from £1,999
- Term: 7 weeks
Invisalign i7 is designed to treat minor alignment issues or orthodontic relapse, making it more of a cosmetic treatment than an orthodontic one.
Patients can achieve fast results for slight crowding, gaps, and misalignment with seven aligners over seven weeks.
3. Inman Aligners
- Cost: from £1,400 to £2,000
- Term: From 6 to 18 weeks
Inman Aligners are similar to URA braces because they use a metal bar on the front of the teeth.
Removable metal orthodontic treatment can straighten teeth in as little as 8-16 weeks and is used to address crowding and protrusion (teeth that angle forward).
Inman Aligners can be used on both the top and upper teeth.

4. Metal Braces
- Cost: from £1,999
- Term: From 18 months to 2 years
Metal braces are fixed, traditional braces that are tried and tested.
For years before invisible braces became available, metal braces were a popular solution for orthodontic cases.
They are effective in treating a wide range of misalignment and malocclusion problems.
Depending on the complexity of your bite, metal braces may also include attachments, such as bands and springs.

5. Lingual Braces
- Cost: from £2,000 to £3,000 (complex cases £6,000)
- Term: From 12 to 18 months
Often referred to as hidden braces, lingual braces are fixed metal braces that sit behind the teeth (on the inside), making them a preferred, discreet solution.
Lingual braces typically start at a mid-range price but can be pricier because the brackets are custom-made and the brace itself costs more.
The braces may take some getting used to initially, and your eating habits may need to be adjusted during wear time.

6. Ceramic Braces
- Cost: from £3,999
- Term: From 1-3 years
Ceramic braces are similar to metal braces, except they use clear or tooth-coloured brackets and wires, which is why they are often referred to as white braces or clear braces.
As the brackets are made of ceramic, they’re not as fast as typical metal braces or as durable.
Therefore, as the teeth move, the brackets may need to be replaced more often.

7. Invisalign Full/Comprehensive
- Cost: from £3,999 to £5,000
- Term: From 6-12 months
While you might find other clear aligners that are somewhat cheaper, Invisalign is the most widely used. The cost will depend on the complexity of your case and the number of aligners used.
Invisalign uses transparent aligners that gradually move teeth into their correct position over 12 months in cases of moderate to severe misalignment. Explore all types of Invisalign.
