Root canals are often necessary for patients to cure damage deep inside the tooth. When a tooth has formed a large cavity, it can sometimes reach the pulp chamber of the tooth, which is made up of fine tissue fibres, nerves and blood vessels. Root canals traditionally do not take much time to complete (one to two hours). However, with this being said, each patient is different, and the length of the procedure will differ according to the complexity of your case. Sometimes, re-rooting or re-treatment might be necessary, which can take longer than an initial appointment.
