Guide to tooth pain

We’re open whenever your emergency happens.

What causes tooth pain?
Never ignore tooth pain

As tooth loss is usually the biggest consequence of toothache, it’s important to see a dentist as soon as possible.

Toothache will never go away on its own – and the longer it’s ignored, the more likely the problem will worsen and be more costly to resolve.

Is toothache an indication of a bigger problem?

Toothache and throbbing tooth pain usually signal to a dentist a potential problem with the underlying tooth structure, like an infection or decay. It’s usually the first warning sign that alarms you to a problem with your tooth or oral health, and the situation will only worsen if you don’t get it treated immediately.

How to stop tooth pain

While waiting for your appointment, you can minimise tooth pain by taking over-the-counter medications, rinsing with salt water or using an ice pack to reduce swelling. Explore more at-home tips here

Same day tooth restorations to fix toothache

When you book an appointment with Mint Dental, we reserve the time to perform your treatment on the same day if possible.

For example, remedial fixes can be great while you wait for a restoration to be made, but with our on-site technology, we’re able to provide many same-day (and cosmetic) solutions like composite bonding, dental fillings, crowns and root canals.

What your emergency fee covers
  • 3D imaging software allows us to see what’s really going on.
  • Appointments are faster and diagnoses are more accurate to get to the issue’s root.
  • Treatment is completed on the day for an additional cost.
  • Prescriptions and X-rays included
  • Patients can be seen within 2 hours of their call.
Is treatment painful?

Most restorations are carried out under local anaesthetic, but if you’re a nervous patient, let us know before your visit so we can accommodate you the right way to make you feel comfortable. Sedation is also offered for patients, who are extremely phobic and cannot receive procedures like tooth extraction.
