Thin and minimally invasive veneers

Mint Dental Clinic uses particular brands of porcelain veneers that require no drilling and no injections and are considerably thinner than traditional ones.

Using these modern porcelain materials, our technicians can create very thin layers, as thin as 0.3 of a millimetre—this version of porcelain veneers is commonly referred to as Ultrathin.

Porcelain veneer cost

A full new smile from £5,100 (6 veneers)

In London especially, the cost of veneers can differ from practice to practice.

However, the general cost of veneers is based on the skills, talents, and expertise of your veneer dentist and technician and the type of material used. Porcelain veneers cost £850.

Patients should remember that particular offers will depend on the required veneers. For example, patients needing one or two veneers could pay more than those having multiple.

Our porcelain veneer offer:

  • Free consultations
  • Home tooth whitening when having multiple veneers
  • Aftercare and follow-up appointments
Porcelain veneers on finance

Patients looking to completely overhaul their smiles with six porcelain veneers can expect to pay £5,100 for their treatment. Patients looking to break up the cost of their payments can do so with 0% finance or over 60 months (14.9%) which would amount to £118.58 per month.

Porcelain veneer types

As you might know, veneers target multiple issues within a short time frame.

However, with several different types available, ranging from high-end permanent to cheaper temporary solutions, it is unclear which ones to go for.

Lumineer veneers
  • Require less dental preparation
  • Referred to as no-prep veneers
  • Made from an ultra-thin material
  • Slightly more translucent
Ultrathin veneers
  • Crafted using ultra-thin porcelain
  • Requires minimal tooth preparation
  • The material is very thin, which means dentists can get away with removing the least amount of enamel possible.
  • Requires a skilled veneer dentist and technician.
Durathin veneers
  • Contact-lens-like custom veneers
  • Adhere directly to front tooth using special cement
  • Less invasive than traditional veneers – requires zero removal of enamel
Laminate veneers

Laminate veneers, are just the same as regular veneers, consisting of wafer-thin veneers that are made out of ceramic materials.

Emax veneers
  • Created using durable and high-strength porcelain
  • Fitted without the need for etching
  • Requires minimal tooth preparation
  • Thin-layered

Your guide to dental veneers

What do porcelain veneers fix?

Porcelain veneers can be used to treat a wide variety of smile problems (even orthodontic ones) – they are the fastest way patients can achieve their dream smile. Many of the smile problems we use veneers to treat include:

  • General smile enhancements
  • To fix yellow, stained or discoloured teeth
  • To close gaps larger than 6mm
  • To fix chipped, cracked and broken teeth
  • Realignment of mildly crooked teeth
Advantages of porcelain veneers
  • Removes and minimises the need for tooth shaving, etching and drilling.
  • Requires no injections – local anaesthetic is used, however, to ensure the patient’s comfort.
  • Porcelain veneers are highly-resistant to stains.
  • The application of porcelain veneers only takes one appointment.
  • The most natural-looking cosmetic enhancement.
  • Very few laminates or dental prosthetics mimic natural light in the way that porcelain veneers do.
Limitations of porcelain veneers
  • Even though there is minimal drilling of the teeth, no drilling veneers are more commonly prescribed in cases where patients wish to have more expressive teeth.
  • Regular porcelain veneers will require a minimal amount of enamel removal from the tooth so they can sit firmly on top – this is often only the size of the veneer itself (between 0.3mm and 0.6mm). Tooth removal is also necessary for patients looking to avoid their teeth looking thick or bulky. Patients looking to avoid this process can turn to composite veneers instead.
  • Porcelain veneers are a commitment for life, they are non-reversible and will require care and attention.
  • Porcelain veneers can be expected to last a minimum of 10 years, however, it’s actually more common for them to last longer than this.
  • Porcelain veneers are not easy to repair, and will likely need to be replaced if broken.
The veneer process
  1. Consultation: We’ll get to know you and your smile and discover what a dream smile looks like.
  2. Examination: We’ll assess your teeth and gum condition to see if you’re a good candidate for veneers.
  3. Assessment: After examining your mouth, we’ll find out whether veneer application will be possible without any tooth removal.
  4. Trial smile: We’ll mock up your new smile on a cast model, so you can see exactly what we can achieve in advance.
  5. Impressions: After preparing your teeth, we’ll use impressions to create provisional veneers based on our trial smile.
  6. Custom-made: When you’re happy, and no modifications need to be made, we’ll send your specs to the dental laboratory for your final veneers to be made.
  7. Fitting appointment: Now, it’s time to apply your veneers, which will only take one appointment.
Do porcelain veneers break or fall off?

Any type or form of porcelain veneer can come off – but the likelihood of them falling off after being cemented to the enamel of the tooth is rare.

The bond between the veneer and the enamel will be incredibly strong. Breakages tend to happen when there is excessive forces applied or inappropriate habits.

Can porcelain veneers stain or be whitened?

Porcelain veneers do not stain easily and are regarded to be a highly-resistant material. However, they can discolour if you smoke, or drink beverages like red wine. Patients must also remember that the tooth around the veneer can still stain.

Dental veneers cannot be whitened once you have chosen their colour.
