The All-on-Four procedure involves the complete restoration of the upper and lower arches using four or six dental implants that are fitted to a hybrid denture or bridge. By the end of the procedure, patients will have a full set of permanent teeth, which are the closest replica to natural teeth.

Unlike regular dentures, which typically rely on suction, the All-on method is fixed using only four implants per jaw. The result? They look, feel and function just like natural, healthy teeth would when chewing, talking, and speaking.

The added benefits of the All-on treatment mean that patients have a durable, long-lasting prosthetic that does not impact their lifestyle or quality of life, leaving them to do all the activities they normally would without compromise or worry.

  • Completed in just one appointment.
  • Provides a fixed solution to tooth loss.
  • Does not require a series of sessions.
  • Less surgery time (four implants placed in one sitting).
  • No need for additional pre-prosthetic procedures like bone grafting.
  • Uses four implants as opposed to eight or ten implants.

If, like many of our patients, you’re tired of dentures or only have a few remaining teeth left, then All-on-4 dental implants are likely the revolutionary procedure you need to smile confidently again.

Improved techniques allow patients to have a new smile in one day

The All-on-4 procedure can be used with the teeth-in-a-day implant technique that allows for a complete restoration of the upper and/or lower teeth with a provisional bridge fitted the same day.

After we place the dental implants, impressions are taken to provide provisional crowns, bridges or dentures made the same day – this is a temporary restoration as we wait 3-6 months for the dental implants to heal and bond with the bone in your jaw.

The provisional restorations are specially made to be immediately loaded and will still look and feel like real teeth, but they will be no match for the final prosthodontics, which are constructed from better materials for even better aesthetics.

The same day full mouth procedure in detail

Before dental implant surgery

Before we begin, the implant dentist will examine your oral health and bone quality thoroughly to ensure there is sufficient bone mass and overall good health to anchor the implants.

During this stage, it’s perfectly normal for patients to undergo x-rays and CT scans for us to obtain the information we need to confidently proceed to the next stages. The success of All on 4, is really dependent on this stage as the depth of planning and assessments before they’re applied will paint an accurate picture of what is and what isn’t possible on the day.

After your exam, we’ll create a model of your teeth, or how they used to be so we can improve and adjust your smile as required throughout your procedure.

During the placement procedure

To start the procedure, the implant surgeon will make small incisions into the gums to place the titanium posts. Once implants, we’ll be able to attach temporary teeth to the implant as we wait for them fuse with the jaw. When the implant surgeon is satisfied that the bone has regenerated and fused well with the implant and the incision wounds have healed, we can progress to the third and final stage of placing the final prosthesis.

Typically, 3-6 months later, when the dental implants are fully functional and aesthetically indistinguishable from real-life teeth, we will place the final restoration and you’ll be free to enjoy your smile.

After surgery and recovery

Once the dental has been inserted and your prosthetic have been fixed, you’ll only be required to care for your implants the same as you would your natural teeth. We would also encourage regular check-ups to ensure your implants remain as healthy as possible.

No need to be nervous

Many people want a full smile again but can be nervous about All-on-4 as they anticipate a painful, lengthy procedure. But let us put your mind at ease, as this is not always the case.

From start to finish, the procedure will typically take four hours, and you do not need to be under general anaesthesia.

However, if this concerns you, we offer sedation dentistry, which means we can provide conscious sedation that allows you to relax but remain responsive during the procedure. Sedation is provided by the hour and comes at an additional cost of £350 per hour.
