Partial Dentures Cost in London

When choosing the right type of partial denture, you must consider where your teeth are missing.

If you use Cobalt Chrome Dentures, which feature metal clasps, for front teeth, they might be visible when you smile. Acrylic might be the better option in this situation.

Guide to partial dentures

Suitable candidates

To be a suitable candidate for upper partial dentures, patients must have some healthy teeth remaining in the jaw if they want to place the denture. Upper partial dentures are not used to replace an entire upper or lower jaw of missing teeth.

Partial denture benefits
  • Removable upper dentures (some can be fixed)
  • Clasps and precision attachments can be used
  • Can replace multiple missing teeth regardless of position
  • Enhances functionality like chewing and speaking
  • Not dentures you can wear all the time
  • Taken out to clean and at night
How many teeth can a partial denture replace?

Anywhere from 1 to several teeth in the upper or lower arch.

There’s no set number for how many teeth partial dentures can replace – they do not replace an entire set, though and are typically used to replace up to three missing teeth, as long as teeth exist either side of the gap. Typically, three or more missing teeth benefit the most from a partial denture.

Can you get partial dentures after extractions?

Yes — immediate partial dentures can be placed the same day.

After a tooth extraction, our dentists might not provide you with permanent partial dentures, instead you might be fitted with a temporary option while we give your gums enough to heal, which could take up to six months. Following your healing period, we can craft permanent partial dentures for you.

Are partial dentures comfortable?
  • First few days: Mild soreness, need to eat softer foods, speech feels different.
  • 1–2 weeks: Mouth adjusts, soreness reduces, speech and chewing improve.
  • 3–4 weeks: Feels more natural, most patients can eat normally again.
  • Check-ups: Adjustments are common in the first weeks — and they’re normal.
How long do partial dentures last?

Typically 5–15 years depending on material and aftercare.

Aftercare and support offered
  • Return for adjustments if denture feels loose or rubs.
  • Relines usually every 2–3 years.
  • Keep a denture case for storage overnight.
  • Avoid very sticky foods in early days.
  • Mint offers same-day repairs for cracks/breaks (if available)
Can you add a tooth to a partial denture later?

Yes — additions are common and affordable.
